If you struggle with procrastination, then this episode is for you! How can we work towards productivity and leave procrastination in the dust? Reward yourself whenever you complete a task. It has nothing to do with needing stronger will power, but everything to do with how you get compensated for the task. We are all just big toddlers in the end.

Key Takeaways:

[3:30] Let’s talk about procrastination!

[4:40] But before we do that, let’s talk about Victor Hugo (it’s related).

[6:40] Getting children to cram knowledge into their brain for a school exam is a waste of their time.

[7:20] So, Victor locked all his clothes away so he couldn’t leave the house and began work on his book.

[8:15] Why do people procrastinate?!

[9:25] Can you believe that even Joe procrastinates?

[11:25] Your present self doesn’t think about your long-term future self. Your present self is an idiot.

[13:30] We often do not make choices for our future self, we make choices for who we are now. And, the person we are now is a toddler.

[15:45] How can we get out of procrastinating?

[17:00] How does Vicky motivate herself to run?

[18:15] Getting started is the hardest thing, but if you promise yourself a reward, it doesn’t have to be.

[19:00] Do you know about the marshmallow experiment?

[22:35] After experiments like these, you can see where a lot of our social problems stem from.

[23:10] You CAN train yourself!

[26:30] It’s really difficult to see your own problems, which is why you need a mentor!

The best people to do business with are those who like you and are similar to you. This means that there are people out there who won’t like you, who aren’t similar to you, and it’s completely okay to piss them off! You have to narrow down on your avatar, but this is something business owners are afraid of doing. Vicky discusses why you need to be firm on who you want to attract and work with.

Key Takeaways:

[0:50] Joe is currently in the cheapest hotel in the world.

[1:45] Since Joe is away for work, Vicky is failing as an adult.

[2:35] So, what are Vicky and Joe talking about today? Business owners who are too beige.

[3:50] Not everybody is going to like you.

[4:15] Most people don’t want to define their avatar because they’re afraid they’re going to exclude people.

[9:25] What does SW3 stand for?

[10:25] You want to repel people who aren’t like you.

[10:40] Being brave in your business means you are bound to offend someone.

[17:15] If you try to please everybody, you will fail.

[18:25] Again: It’s perfectly okay if people don’t like you.

[20:15] Dare to be yourself.

[22:35] Vicky has some crazy listeners who joined her Inner Circle just after binge listening this podcast.
